Atorvastatin modestly improves kidney function over time

KEY POINT

Use of atorvastatin in patients at risk for or with established cardiovascular (CV) disease resulted in a modest dose-dependent improvement in kidney function over time. This improvement in kidney function was strongly associated with lower CV risk, according to data from a large post-hoc analysis of six CV outcome trials published in the Journal of the American Heart Association.
