Many highly rated sunscreen products fail to adhere to AAD criteria

KEY POINT

A review of the top-rated sunscreen products sold on Amazon.com found that 40% of these products failed to adhere to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) criteria of being broad-spectrum, having a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or more, and being water and/or sweat resistant. Consumers preferred sunscreen products on the basis of their cosmetic elegance.
